I do provide full Drug and Alcohol Assessments and consultations for concerned family members of persons who may have the disease of addiction. When I do an evaluation I always hope the person I am evaluating is not addicted, perhaps in the same way that a physician hopes his or her patient does not have a serious illness.

I also wish to make it clear that for those that choose evaluation with me, you are the client and own the privilege of confidentiality. Only after the evaluation and IF you sign a release will I divulge to anyone else what we have discussed. There are some legal limitations to this protection, both Federal and State law – all of which I will discuss with you on the phone at your request. An explanation of these confidentiality issues is contained in my intake paperwork also.

I mention confidentiality (privilege) for this reason: if you are coming for an evaluation, whether it is your own desire, or the desire of a parent, child, lawyer, or even a court, I will not release the results of my evaluation unless you agree with them and give me permission to do so after the evaluation in complete.
