I have been in clinical practice since 1978 and in private practice since 2007. Clients have come to resolve problems or address something negative that has happened to them. Part of the goal of treatment is to uncover the secret of turning a negative experience into something that can be life-changing and result in positive growth.

My focus on treatment is on creative behavior change that can lead to a resolution of a problem and result in personal growth.

Problems Addressed

As a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a primary focus in my practice is Substance Use Disorder Treatment. I have over 20 years' experience in working with the CRASH program for those interested in having their driver's license returned to them. I have equal experience helping clients who are working through the requirements of the Court Diversion program or TASP, the Teen Alcohol Safety Program.

In addition to substance use related issues, I have training and experience in the treatment of psychiatric disorders such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief issues. Such issues are often connected to substance abuse issues or may be independent of substance abuse. Also, with my training and experience, I am able to help clients address spirituality issues in the recovery process.

Scheduling

I can be reached through my email (dsteinbauer@comcast.net) or through my business cell phone, 802-363-3718. I function with a flexible schedule and a first appointment that can be quickly scheduled, often within 24-48 hours if that need exists. My hours are client-centered and flexible.

Paying for Treatment

I am able to bill through most insurance except VHAP and Medicare. I am currently credentialed under contract with Blue Cross/Blue Shield (Magellan), MVP, and Cigna. I can work on a sliding scale to provide treatment with an affordable fee.

Population Served: Older adolescents (ages 16 and up) through older adult.

Licensure: Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor
