Psychotherapy is a unique, professional relationship that has the potential to help change a person's way of life significantly. Together, we find the most effective way to work through problems with: transititions, life stress, trauma, depression, anxiety, thought disturbances, impulse control, anger or relationship stress. My approach uses a positive, "person centered" method to help an individual, group, or family to discover their strengths to better enhance their lives. I can offer a free consultation to determine if we might work well together.
Individual Child-Centered Psychotherapy
I work with those as young as 4 years old. I utilze an approach that helps children to express themselves in their own language by utilizing creative strategies to individualize their treatment.
Parents who were separated from their children or have children/adolescents with difficult behaviors oftentimes may feel shamed or blamed. It is a courageous step for a family to decide to work in therapy to reconnect and restructure their way of communicating. My work with families has provided me with the opportunity to have met many unique, competent and courageous families. Together they made powerful steps towards overcoming trauma, grief, separation or mental illness in order to reinvent their relationships with each other.
As a Licensed Psychologist-Master I provide psychological testing and evaluation when indicated for adults and children. Assessments are unique and specialized to the individual and may include: personality testing, cognitive/intelligence testing, violence risk assessment, fire risk assessment, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and emotional disturbance in children.
